EXAMINATION AND PROMOTION


 

CLASSES VI TO VIII-

 

 

Scholastic Area: The assessment structure and examination for classes VI to VIII comprises of two terms i.e. Term-1 and 2-

 

 

(Includes English, Hindi, mathematics, Science, Social Science, Sanskrit)


 TERM-1 (100 marks)- 1st half of the session

 

20 marks for Periodic Assessment

Periodic Test 1: 10 marks

Note Book Submission : 5 marks

Regularity, Assignment Completion, Neatness & Upkeep of Note Book

Subject Enrichment  : 5 marks

These are subject-specific activities aimed at enhancing the understanding and skills of the students. These activities are carried out throughout the term and evaluated at the term-end.

 

80 marks for Half Yearly Exam


 TERM-2 (100 marks)- 2nd half of the session

 

20 marks for Periodic Assessment

Periodic Test 2 : 10 marks

Note Book Submission : 5 marks

Regularity, Assignment Completion, Neatness & Upkeep of Note Book

Subject Enrichment  : 5 marks

These are subject-specific activities aimed at enhancing the understanding and skills of the students. These activities are carried out throughout the term and evaluated at the term-end.

 

80 marks for Annual Exam with


Syllabus coverage as below:

Class VI: 10% of 1st term covering significant topics + entire syllabus of 2nd term

Class VII: 20% of 1st term covering significant topics + entire syllabus of 2nd term

Class VIII: 30% of 1st term covering significant topics + entire syllabus of 2nd term

 

 

 

Co-Scholastic Activities -

For the holistic development of the student, co-curricular activities in the following areas be carried out in school is graded term-wise on a 3-point grading scale (A=Outstanding, B=Very Good and C=Fair).

The aspect of regularity, sincere participation, output and teamwork be the generic criteria for grading in the following co-scholastic activities-

(a)   Art Education (Visual & Performing Art)

(b)    Health and Physical Education (Sports & Yoga)

 

CLASSES IX & X-

 

Scholastic Area: The assessment structure and examination for classes IX & X comprises of three periodic tests- Pre Mid Term, Mid Term and Post Mid Term Tests. Cumulative syllabus is included in each term.

 

Term Test Weightage- 5 marks

Pre Mid  Term – 5 marks

Mid Term – 5 marks

Post Mid Term – 5 marks

 

Average of best two is considered.

Co-Scholastic Activities -

Co-curricular activities in the following areas be carried out in school is graded term-wise on a 5-point grading scale (A=Excellent, B=Very Good, C=Good, D=Average and E=Below Average).

(a)   Art Education (Visual & Performing Art)

(b)    Health and Physical Education (Sports & Yoga)

 

CRITERIA FOR PROMOTION FOR IX AND XI-

1. Promotion is based on the basis of cumulative performance of the student.

2.  For promotion to the next class, the student must secure minimum D grade in all the subjects.

3.  Minimum 75% attendance is must in the school.
